Mount Fire Detector On Wall Or Ceiling

Many smoke detectors are designed to mount to a ceiling but some can also be wall mounted when attaching to a ceiling isn t feasible.

In either case install the alarm at least 4 inches 100 mm from where the wall and ceiling meet. It only takes 10 min or less to install a ceiling mounted device that s from cutting the ceiling tile to snapping in the hanger bar for the electrical box and wiring the unit itself.
